Alysia N. Beltran (she/her) is a Southern Oregon based Actor, Singer, Voice Over Artist, and Casting Associate.
An artist with a passion for socially aware art and a native to San Francisco, Alysia has embraced the beauty of her multi-ethnic background and upbringing. She started her training in the performing arts at the age of four, studying ballet, tap, hip hop, hula, tahitian, jazz, and musical theatre with the Westlake School for the Performing Arts and Spark of Creation Studio. She received several awards for her vocal performances in her teens, including an award for her solo performance in the 2013 Youth Focus Inc.’s California State Talent Competition (Grand Champion). She participated in fundraisers to send medical, dental, and optical supplies to her father’s hometown in the Philippines, including a pageant that earned her the title of Miss Paniquenians USA 2013. Some of her favorite high school theatre credits include Maria in "West Side Story" and Daniela in "In the Heights". She also starred in WSPA’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. as Belle. Alysia earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and title of Magna Cum Laude from San Francisco State University in the fall of 2017, graduating a semester early. Here, she found her drive for producing art that promotes social welfare. During her time at SF State, she joined Broadway by the Bay’s ensemble in "Miss Saigon", Palo Alto Players’s "Spamalot", was a featured soloist in Landmark Musicals’ "HA!R", and danced her heart out as Connie Miller in San Jose Musical Theatre's The "1940's Radio Hour". She delved into her heritage and joined SF State’s "Pilipino Cultural Night 43: Kapit Kamay" as the lead role, Leah. Here, she found a love for Filipino Folk Dance and became a principal dancer for Kariktan Dance Company 2015-2017. She also starred as Isia in the World Premiere production of Bae Makiling, a dance theatre production based on the Filipino folk tale of the infamous lady in white, told through Filipino folk dance and contemporary lyrical dance. She has also participated in developmental workshops in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York of Latinx Musical, SUENOS (Lisa, Desiree). Weeks after her graduation from SF State, she performed in B Street Theatre’s production of Gandhi! The Musical, a new musical by Lyndsay Burch. In July 2018, she stepped into her dream role of Esmeralda in Bay Area Muscals’ The Hunchback of Notre Dame directed by Matthew McCoy. She has since relocated to Southern Oregon, where she has had the opportunity to work with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (Copper Children workshop - Gloria) The Oregon Cabaret (Sherlock Holmes and the Sign of the Four; Poirot: Murder on the Links), Camelot Theatre (A Little Night Music - Anne Egerman), and Collaborative Theatre Project (Death Takes a Holiday - Alice, Great Expectations - Estella). She hopes to continue to inspire young performers of color to pursue their wildest dreams. |
